In 2000, the Idaho Horse Council began offering three $1000 scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to students who have graduated from Idaho High Schools and are continuing their education in the equine related studies. The funds are generated through several activities that occur at the Horse Expo and memorials to the Idaho Horse Council Scholarship fund.
Seventeen students applied for the 2009-2010scholarships.
